Five Yes/No Questions:

  1. Within guidelines limits
  2. Require particular employees capability
  3. Working environment with risky conditions
  4. Manual handling can be avoided/ mechanized/ automated
  5. Risk can be reduced by training

As a general, a Preliminary Risk Assessment is needed for:

  1. Handling loads above 16 kg without any mechanical aid;
  2. Carrying out an repetitive task for work;
  3. Any obvious MH task carried out with repeated awkward postures and excessive movements.

Detailed assessment should be conducted when twisting to the sides or handling beyond the movement zone are needed.

Reduced by 1/3 of the limits

Handling while seated
