Safe Operating Procedure

Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs) provide detailed, step-by-step instruction for safety conducting experiments or processes involving hazards in a research laboratory. The SOPs available on the Research Safety Management System (RSMS) have been reviewed by the Health, Safety, and Environment Office (HSEO) and serve as a reference to uphold laboratory safety and minimise risks during procedures. Principal Investigators (PIs) and their research teams are encouraged to use these SOPs when planning and executing experiments. While these documents are tailored to specific laboratory procedures, they are not exhaustive and existing SOPs may be modified as required. PIs and their research teams are also encouraged to develop their own SOPs should it be deemed necessary.
