There should have been a review of all operations in the Department to identify all applicable legal requirements. Some examples include:

• Certification of lifting appliances and lifting gears
• Requirements on storage of dangerous goods
• Handling of radioactive substances
• Requirements on means of escape
• Assessments for manual handling operations
• Provision for first aid facilities
• Working in confined spaces
• Etc.

Verify whether there has been such a review. Check with those responsible for the concerned operations to see if they are aware of the applicable legal requirements.
